USA Cycling adopts Olympic rules

USA Cycling announced today new criteria for the 2010 racing season. With the popularity of the Winter Olympics at an all time high, winners of races will be determined not only by who crosses the finish line first, but a sum total of placement AND the judges scoring of both costume and music chosen by each racer. In effect style points will count for 2010. USA Cycling considered adding a category for 'tricks' or rider stunts, but rejected it after assessing possible increases in the health care bills it now pays out for injuries due to crashes.
